Communications and Marketing Manager

Purpose and Position Summary:

The Communications and Marketing Manager plays an integral role in leading and implementing IFCL’s communications and marketing strategy. Leveraging their relevant experience, they will work to amplify IFCL’s growth, impact and thought leadership goals. They will also contribute to broader corporate goals through support for IFCL’s Centre of Excellence for National Development Banks (CENDB), business development, employee engagement, capacity building and wellness activities.

The ideal candidate is a motivated and curious self-starter, continuously cultivating an ability to identify, communicate and develop practical and innovative communication strategies through implementation of best practices.  They are committed to working in a team environment and providing support as needed to ensure client and internal expectations are met and exceeded

Core Areas of Accountability:

Corporate Communications

  • Lead and execute the firm’s internal and external communication strategies  
  • Manage the implementation of the company’s annual communication strategies including IFCL’s rebranding strategy and roll-out
  • Monitor landscape and proactively identify opportunities to promote IFCL's brand among relevant industry players and sectors 
  • Maintain the firm’s brand identity across corporate materials and client deliverables Development and implement consistent standards, guidelines, and tools to support branding capacity amongst the team
  • Track relevant Key Performance Indicators


  • Lead and execute the firm’s marketing strategies
  • Spearhead focused efforts to promote IFCL as an influencer or thought leader in its strategic areas 
  • Produce key marketing materials
  • Develop and manage content for the firm’s website and social media ensuring that all content and messaging is reinforcing the company brand and positioning
  • Spearhead development of a new IFCL website and ensure alignment with communication strategy and rebranding efforts to optimize benefits to IFCL

Internal Communications

  • Develop rebrand launch strategy and implement roll-out
  • Lead internal communications to enhance staff communication and engagement
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve internal communications procedures and tools
  • Serve as a Wellness Ambassador and contribute to staff wellness activities 

Corporate Development

  • Produce written and visual content in support of project work and corporate initiatives
  • Conduct visual reviews on final project materials as necessary
  • Provide advisory services and content as communications consultant on designated client projects
  • Deliver targeted trainings and tools to build staff capacity in areas related to communications and marketing
  • Contribution to business development activities such as producing marketing materials, internal tools to enhance BD, as well as contributing/leading targeted EOIs and proposals. 

Key Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or other relevant studies
  • Between 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge or experience with consulting, private sector or financial sector an asset
  • Practical experience in applying communications methodologies, tools and practices
  • High-level proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Zoom, etc.
  • Excellent English writing skills
  • Ability to develop presentations including visual graphics to various audiences
  • Ability to communicate expertly to internal and external stakeholders
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment, working flexibly and delivering measurable impact
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Organized and structured, with great attention to detail
