In recent years, countries in the Gulf Region have sought to diversify their economy away from oil production to develop other export sectors. Seeking to accelerate its diversification and economic growth, a national export credit agency engaged International Financial Consulting Ltd. to develop a new strategic plan focused on diversification. We assessed challenges, which had both internal and external facets, such as the incorporation of the national investment fund as a new shareholder and regional geopolitical instability. We facilitated individual and group discussions with the agency's management and key commercial banks and private credit insurers. The project culminated in a strategic planning workshop where we presented our findings to the agency, laying out clear goals, actions, and metrics for measuring progress.
