Aneta Wisniewska

Senior Advisor, Environmental, Social, and Governance

Aneta is a seasoned professional in the sphere of sustainable finance. She assists financial institutions worldwide in the implementation of environmental and social management systems, provides environmental and social transaction support as well as develops internal capacity on sustainable finance, risk management, and international best practice (i.e. IFC Performance Standards).

Aneta has in a deep understanding of the development finance community and environmental and social standards and requirements of bilateral and multilateral development finance institutions. She has worked, and continues to work, with main development finance institutions in Europe, the USA, and Asia, assisting the investment teams in project appraisal, supervision, and building internal knowledge and capacity. She also works with their financial intermediaries providing ESMS-related advisory services. In the past, Aneta contributed to the development of a capacity-building program for the financial sector in Kenya under Kenya Sustainable Finance. Since 2011, she is a core tutor of the UNEP FI’s ESRA course on environmental and social risk identification and management.

To date, Aneta has worked with financial institutions and on investment projects requiring presence on the ground in over 20 countries in Africa, Latin America, and Asia. Additionally, she has appraised and supervised numerous high and medium-risk projects from a vast variety of sectors in a vast variety of countries.

She has a thorough knowledge of main standards and initiatives, including IFC Performance Standards, World Bank EHS Guidelines, ILO Core Labour Standards, ISO 1400, ISO45001, SA 8000, and climate risk assessment and reporting in line with TCFD. She is a trained SA 8000 Lead Auditor.

Aneta graduated with a Master's Degree in Finance and Economics with a focus on Sustainable Development from INCAE Business School (established by Harvard University) located in Costa Rica. She also holds a Master of Arts in Global Affairs (Global Risk and Corporate Social Responsibility) from Florida International University in Miami, USA as well as B.A in International Studies and B.S in International Business from Barry University in Miami, USA.

She is of Polish origins and speaks four languages fluently (Polish, English, Spanish, German).
