Corry is an international trade and development finance professional with 20 years of experience developing innovative solutions for Global Affairs Canada and Export Development Canada to promote trade and development as engines of economic growth around the globe.

As a diplomat and executive, she has 13 years of experience managing diverse teams to deliver multimillion dollar international and regional economic development projects in the areas of private sector development, blended finance, agriculture and natural resource management. She is a strategic thinker able to unpack complex systems, navigate the interests of multiple stakeholders, and work creatively to achieve results.

She held diplomatic postings in Colombia and Ethiopia, where she worked in international affairs and business development to improve environmental, social and governance outcomes in challenging international contexts. Corry is dedicated to supporting her clients in achieving their desired outcomes.

Professional Highlights

  • Led the design of the Government of Canada’s blended finance program and implemented projects with international development banks and private equity funds, mobilizing over $200M in private capital to achieve the sustainable development goals.

  • Provided strategic advice to advance Canadian development objectives and negotiations in United Nations, OECD, G7, G20 and COP26 fora, with a focus on leveraging blended finance for climate smart agriculture and nature-based solutions to climate change.

  • She chaired multi-donor committees and coordinated international finance in Ethiopia and Colombia, while facilitating inclusive policy development to advance gender equality, better climate outcomes and improved access to finance for small business.

  • She was the Global Chair for the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program, where she built global alliances between civil society, private sector, international organizations and donors in order to address the current global food crisis.

  • Influenced policy reforms by national development banks in Colombia and Ethiopia, resulting in improved banking policies to improve access to finance (equity and loans) for small holder farmers, women entrepreneurs and small businesses.

  • Led the design and implementation of over 25 official development assistance grant and contribution programs in Africa, Asia and the Americas using innovative development finance and results based payment models to support small business growth, equity market regulation, climate finance, extractive sector resource management and women’s entrepreneurship.

  • Introduced, managed and presented the annual publication of EDC’s Environmental Scan to inform EDC’s Corporate Plan and developed a corporate performance framework including the development of performance targets and indicators by working with EDC's management team.
