Stellah Mutoni is a development finance and impact investing specialist with over eleven years of experience working in the financial services sector in Canada and Sub Sahara Africa; or working in roles that catalyze innovative, market driven, and collaborative approaches to sustainable impact.
Prior to joining IFCL, Stellah was at Export Development Canada on the Risk Management Team, where she served as Credit Risk Analyst and Senior Associate Financial Standards Manager in 2012. Thereafter, she had a short stint on Ecobank Zambia’s Corporate Banking Team; and then co-founded and managed GreenRoot Finance Limited, a microfinance company that focused on supporting mostly female entrepreneurs and groups of low-income employees who were traditionally excluded from mainstream commercial credit. In her capacity as Managing Director of GreenRoot, she also led several external consulting projects that focused on financial inclusion in conjunction with several large-scale partners such as GIZ, World Food Program and Clinton Development Initiative.
After seven years of running GreenRoot, Stellah joined an American foundation in the role of Program Manager and co-designed catalytic investment programs to support the agricultural sector in Malawi and surrounding regional economies.
